I am a proud native of North Carolina with a deep love for the sporting lifestyle and everything Southern. My book collection seems to grow endlessly, and I have a particular fondness for collecting vintage duck decoys. First rate. The dog on the cover of Nash Buckingham’s De Shootinest Gent’man
resembles an Irish Water Spaniel whose roots are found in the more recent Boykin Spaniel,
of which breed I have been the proud owner. Mr. Buck was a classic one of a kind gentleman,
and would approve my use of a Fox 1925 HE SuperFox, a Long Range LC Smith, and a 1923
Parker Bros. A-grade. As Filson placed on their earlier gear: “Might as well have the best”.
